If you think the Indian Institutes of Technologies are only about technology and pure sciences, you will be wrong. For in IIT Chennai, there is a unique course offered in the field of human relationships in contemporary contexts. Yes there is a five year integrated Master of arts programme offered in Development Studies and Master of arts programme in English Studies. Admission to these courses is done through Humanities and Social Sciences Entrance Examination (HSEE). Some highlights are given below:-

Age	Candidates birthday should fall on or after 01.10.1989; relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST and PD categories
Date of exam	20.04.2014 between 10.00 hrs to 13.00 hrs
Exam centres	Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Thiruvananthapuram
Exam mode	Examination consists of 2 Parts Part I – Multiple choice questions for 2.5 hrs.         1) English and comprehension skill         2)Analytical and Quantitative ability      3) General Studies      4)  Environment and ecology Part II – requires the candidate to write an essay on general topic for 0.5 hrs
Last date	Online application ends on 17.01.2014; Completed application should reach within 17.00hrs on 27.01.2014
Results	Ranks and scores will be declared online on 14.05.2014 (Reservation as per Government of India rules)

NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF FASHION TECHNOLOGY - ADMISSIONS

National Institute of Fashion Technology was established in 1986, under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Over the years this institute has established itself as a premier institute for learning in Design, Management and Technology. It has 15 campuses spread all over India offering various under graduate and post graduate programmes. NIFT has recently announced its admission schedule for 2014. The admission to these institutes are based on an entrance test/ group discussion/ personal interview. A brief synopsis of the notification is given below
