BSNL'S ONLINE SEARCH FOR ISD CODES
International Subscriber Dialing (ISD) is a number which should be prefixed before a phone number, if you are calling to a foreign country. It is usually a one, two or three digit number representing the country with which you want to communicate to. International calls are made using this prefix number. Each country has a unique number which is added as a prefix before the phone number. Now the terminology has changed from ISD (International Subscriber Dialing) to IDD (International direct dialing) in some countries.
While making international calls, though the phone number will normally contain the ISD code, sometimes we will be in need of ISD code of that country. BSNL has provided a online search facility of ISD codes. Go to http://www.bsnl.co.in/isdsearch.php to know the ISD code. (click on the image to get an enlarged view)
Here we can search either by country name or by country code. If we give the country name we will receive the country code as the output or if we know the code but not the country, then we can give the code and the country will be given as the output. We have also search options such as giving the country name partially or starting with starting letters of the country. Also all the ISD codes are arranged alphabetically (according to the country name), so that we can view the country code easily.
